Through a lot of decission making, I have decided to change the genre of my magazine to an R'n'B magazine. Before, i was going to be making an Indie magazine howeverafter thinking thouroughly i thought it would be best for me to change this as I am a lot more knowledgable of R'n'B music and know a lot more about this genre.
Because of my desicion to change my genre. I have had to do more market research. I used UK tribes again to find out who my target audience would be and found that the main group i would be targetting are 'Townies'. The mind map to the side shows the other stereotypes that come under the main group of Townies. This is a large group and therefore I feel an R'n'b Magazine would be appealing to many people. However Townies aren't the only people I would hope to attract to my magazine. The two other main groups are 'Mainstream' and 'Urban'. I used UK tribes to help me make this decision.
Mainstream
According to UK tribes, Mainstreamers include Ravers, Townies, Chavs, Boy Racers, Sports Junkies, Street Rats and Casuals. They tend to follow the crowd and criticse peers who appear to stand out. They tend to wear 'big brand sportswear and high street fashion predominates' and have a mainly comercial taste in music.
Mainstream refers to the most common of the majority. It includes both the popular culture and the media culture. In the media culture, mainstream music denotes music that is familiar such as POPULAR MUSIC usually in the charts or played on popular radio stations such as Kiss FM or Capital FM, Pop music, pop rock or POP RAP. Pop rap is a feature of mainstream culture, therefore the mainstream culture have been considered as potential market for my magazine.

Urban
The Urban tribe is shaped with groups such as Get Paid Crew, Blingers, DIYers and Trackies. They are the group that create and dictate taste. They have urban fashion tastes and music tastes which is influenced by what they see around them in their urban environments.

Urban teens may get labeled with names such as "gangbangers", "street thugs" aor " hip hoppers", they produce a high potential market. Innercity teens tend to set the trends and values for teens everywhere. Here is peice of research that was discovered including "facts" about the urban teens of this generation.
Due to the change of my Genre choice, I am having to think very carefully about other aspects to my magazine such as a name, strapline, fonts, colour schemes, pictures and coverlines. This will be time consuming however beneficial as I am able to put in a lot of my own Knowledge. I have to really think about how i want my front cover to look. I have researched into a few front covers of R'n'B or pop magazines and here are some of my favourites:
